Children & Teenager's Health

At Sensitive Foods, we are highly experienced in working with children of all ages

From infants as young as 4–6 months through to toddlers and young children. Food intolerances, sensitivities, and hypersensitivities often show up very differently in children compared to adults, which is why our approach is tailored, gentle, and age-appropriate.

We understand that children may feel anxious in new environments, so we create a calm and safe space. Consultations are designed to help little ones feel comfortable, with techniques such as keeping sessions short when needed, or even putting on a favourite cartoon to settle them. While the assessments are completely non-invasive and pain-free, we know some children don’t like sitting still — and that’s okay. We adjust while always maintaining accuracy.

Common Conditions We See in Children

Our protocols have successfully helped support children experiencing:

  • Infantile eczema, reflux, and sleeplessness
  • Recurring infections in infants and toddlers
  • Breastfeeding-related allergies and thrush
  • Toddler eczema, asthma, and hayfever
  • Glue ear, sinus congestion, and constant runny noses
  • Hives, rashes, tummy aches, diarrhoea, or constipation
  • Recurrent ear, nose, and throat infections
  • Antibiotic overload effects
  • Childhood inflammatory and autoimmune conditions such as:
  • Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis
  • Polymyalgia rheumatica

As a parent myself, I understand the trust you place in a practitioner when it comes to your child’s health. That trust is at the heart of everything we do. My own daughter was diagnosed with cancer at just 6 years old and underwent 26 months of chemotherapy at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. Alongside her prescribed medical treatments, we followed strict nutritional and recovery protocols — and during this time she never developed a single infection. Her recovery rate was extraordinary compared to other children in similar circumstances.

That experience deepened my belief in the powerful role of diet and natural therapies in supporting children’s health — not as a replacement for medical care, but as an essential complement.

Important: Always ensure you remain under the supervision of a paediatric specialist for any serious medical condition. Our role is to support, guide, and complement medical care with safe, personalised strategies.

Teenage Health

Teenage health requires a thoughtful and tactful approach. The teenage years are filled with change — hormonal shifts, puberty, peer pressure, new routines, and the challenge of balancing study, social life, and sports. On top of this, many teenagers are tempted by processed foods, late nights, and stress that can take a toll on their health.

When teenagers recognise that they are struggling, it opens the door for positive change. With the right assessment and tailored program, recovery and improvement are very achievable.

Common Issues We Help Teenagers Manage

  • Acne, eczema, and asthma
  • Allergies and hayfever
  • Poor concentration and study fatigue
  • Behavioural concerns including ADD/ADHD
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome, Epstein-Barr virus, glandular fever
  • Digestive conditions such as IBS, Crohn’s, colitis, and candida
  • General wellness support, especially around Year 12 exams
  • Sports performance, energy, and recovery

The most successful outcomes come when teenagers themselves are engaged and willing to make changes. While parents often recognise the problem first, it’s important that the teenager feels part of the decision-making. With the right guidance and small, manageable adjustments, results can be life-changing — improved energy, clearer skin, stronger focus, and better resilience.
